Is your website reaching its full potential?

‘An audit will give you a chance to inspect the robustness of your website's technical framework and infrastructure, assess how friendly your website is to search engines, and determine how easy it is for users to navigate and intuitively find content on your website.’
Rebecca Churt - Hubspot.com

Even the best websites in the world will seek reassurance that they are staying on top of current trends and maximising their potential. Websites should be designed and developed around your business’s objectives, however, there may also be secondary KPIs, such as newsletter sign-ups for example, that need to be considered.

There could be various reasons why you think it’s time for a website audit. The business model and objectives may have shifted from when the website was first launched; your brand may have had a re-fresh, and now your website feels disconnected from the brand itself; or you may be experiencing a drop in conversions which needs a thorough analysis.

Whatever the reason, we invite you to use our FREE CCMEDIA 3 STEP UX Audit Guide. These 3 steps allows you to work through your own website audit at your own pace; hopefully unpacking some quick-win opportunities that will convert clicks into customers.

Design Language

How your website looks and feels plays a huge part in how many people will visit and stay on your site. The more people that visit and the longer they stay on your site, should naturally lead to a higher conversion rate.

The design language should always align with your brand identity.

Content & UX Flow

‘Say you built a great weather app with a lot of cool features. Your users aren’t going to care about those - they likely just want to know if it’s going to rain on their commute home.’
Geordie Kaytes - appcues.com

It’s always important to remember that a user will always visit your website with a goal in mind. Understanding your target audience and knowing what they will be looking for on site, will give you an indication on how best to organise your content within the pages and ensure a smooth user experience.

Content needs to be informative, exciting and add value, whilst being delivered in a logical order.

Navigation

Making sure your site is easy to navigate across both desktop and mobile is critical to overall website performance. Your user should be given the freedom and autonomy to explore at their own pace, creating their own unique user journeys. Animations are a great way to drive engagement, and we recommend subtly including them within CTA’s to give users a nudge to ‘click here’.

One of the things we love doing here at CCMEDIA is giving a website a new lease of life. We hope our FREE guide steers you in the right direction and provides some quick-wins that you can roll out, but if you want any further advice from our experienced team, please do get in touch.
